Sorry if this is obvious, but I can't find a decent summary of what the roles do in-game. I'm confused on what a bruiser is. Also, what's a striker and specialist? And what does 'support' mean here? Doesn't seem to mean 'healer'.

This sorta only being general way i look at them.

Tank = High HP/Def, low damage, disruption, low to moderate mobility.
Bruiser = Moderate to high HP/Def, moderate damage, disruption, low to high mobility.
Specialist = Low HP/Def, high damage long range, low to moderate mobility
Assassin = Low HP/Def, high damage short range, disruption, moderate to high mobility
Support = Supportive chars, mostly have teamsupport abilities. Think chars that will excell if they have teammembers around them.
Striker = High damage (late game), low hp/def, low to high mobility.

There are chars that sorta blend over into other roles naturally. Like allen is a short ranged specialist which sorta makes him a assassin as he has low HP, 2 stuns and skills that could be used for mobility. The same goes for yuna although her ult atleast is long range.

Your item build will also determine allot about how the char gets played. Like blue rose could be played more like a striker then a assassin as her auto attacks are long range (although come out slow in comparison to real strikers).

That said i'm no expert player and this info could only be half correct use at your own risk :P.

IMO the 3 tricky ones that are not straighfoward are:

Support: They mainly help the team with heals or shields, they range from pure healers(Victoria ) to damage dealing classes with a bit of support (Cain).

Strikers: Think as the lol ADC, usually weak on early they become increasingly powerful on late, but they need to be protected, since they are glass cannons as well to know to position themselves since their aoe is relatively lacking and shine on single target mostly

Specialist: Think of them as the AOE class. They also tend to have some CC with exceptions which makes them useful on both cleaning lanes and on teamfights due to the huge pressure they put on multiple targets at once

Specialists is a bit of a confusing/tricky class to understand. you would think that specialists are AoE, but then you have someone like allen who plays more like a fighter/brusier than anything. then you have someone like yuna who plays more like an assassin that has AoE. basically tho there primary goal is team fighting since all of them have AoE and CC dmg, ignitia being the only one who has no CC but a ton of dmg.

if you click on the "?" help function at the top right of the lobby menu it will give a decent summary of what each class/role does and what there purpose is.

Might as well say that Tanks primarily have low mobility. Bruisers actually have moderate to high mobility (vampire dude is an exception). Specialists primarily have low mobility (Allen might as well respect as an assassin).

Well i made that comment while trying to keep all chars in the general description. Athena is a tank, but at the same time with her dash and "slow" she can dash up to 3 times which is pretty mobile. The others not so much indeed.

The same with the bruisers as you already pointed out. Although migenhardt could change into a bat and fly off if the right conditions are met.

Supports are indeed all in the low mobility catagory yeah, kinda forgot to add that really xD.

Meh all in all it's hard to really make good fitting allround descriptions as almost every role (if not all) have one char or more that doesn't quite fit.
