They are still trying their best :c so we cant give up yet ♥

Wouldn't their best be listening to their fans? Releasing the toggle button in the options menu? That would silence the most/loudest of the complaints. A single option button. But they outright refuse. I personally am thinking they are doing far from their best, and simply doing what they want.

You have to understand Hyper Universe isn't their only game, they have a good handful more which are generating revenue, unlike this title. I believe they will announce they will be dropping this game before 2019.

Easily. Let's hope some other company will pick it up and dedicate themself a bit more to this one.

Meh, first time visiting the forum. I was expecting a thread like this to be on top because HU is on the edge of "dying". It never fell by the way because it never had a moment where it truly shined (Except maybe for release day where you could play any mode on any server with low que-times). Aside from that HU always has been a "low-burner" from my point of view.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good game with great potential but so was Paragon. Or Dawngate. If the devs don't use that potential but limit it instead it's to no surprise that HU is in that state of "decay" right now. I mean.. let's think about it alittle bit:

    - the MOBA market is the hardest market to take roots in; you're up against THE biggest game o the internet (LoL) and a couple of other good running competitors (SMITE, DotA 2, to an extend Awesomenauts), you don't just develop a game and throw it out there and hoping everything works out well. You gotta be dedicated as F*CK to make it work
    - there was little to no advertisement, in fact I myself only stumbled over that game by accident
    - the censorship situation itself left people with worry and doubts towards the devs and how they'd handle things in the future
    - too many game-modes for a too small of a playerbase. Right now people are que'ing in for either AI, Regular or "Rankeds" in either NA or EU, with EU being completely dead because of the lack of players. You're damn lucky if you get into a game within 20 minutes. Should've made AI-mode less lucrative and disabled (or never introduced in the first place) 'Ranked'-mode until the playerbase becomes more stable.

Im pretty sure any of us can add one or two more things to the list, either way there are things to do and the companies (not only Nexon) need to -learn- how important it is to take player-feedback into account. It's fine to make mistakes and experiement a little; if the changes ain't well received there's always the option to revert them and/or improve them. O course it's a shitton of work but that's no excuse. It's what you guys do for a living and you better come up with a good plan and strategy before throwing games on the market without the intention to fully back up your game.
A couple of mom's complained about characters being jiggly, sexy and busty? Yea, so what? It's like saying "Game focuses only on big boobs. It's obvious they try to sell sex." <-- that's retarded. Literally. Ever thought about the fact that there are women outside that actually have this kind of bust and they get denied/ shunned by people just because they don't like big boobs or sexy dressed women? It simply is no valid arguement (it's like saying I don't like rap-music; or I don't like to eat mushrooms); if people think something is too sexualized then so be it. Nobody forces them to watch or play it. Move along! If people would suddenly complain that there are too many MOBA-elements in the game and they'd rather have more car-racing attributes in HU would you start turning all heroes into cars as well? Simply don't. Listen to feedback on how to improve on game-mechanics. Things that aren't as subjective and can actually help the game.

It'd also be nice if the devs (or someone who is connected with the team in some way) would talk to the community. Actively. Let the people know what's going in, be the bridge that connects the people behind a game with the people who love the work they're doing. Alot of companies barely care about communication with the people they're trying to sell their game to. A few mods in the forums, a couple of GMs on twitch playing a game and they think the rest will manage itself.
Online games ain't a new thing; and someone with experience only needs to take a look back to see what other companies did wrong and should try to avoid to make the same mistakes.

Anyways, rant over. I still hope that HU recovers somehow and manages to lure a bunch of people to play that game. I actually enjoy creating builds for characters and their items.

Well, now THIS is an awesome post, cool-headed, straight to the point and analytical.

So you mentioned Paragon, which actually died yesterday, it was kinda sad, watched a good amount of videos and entered reddit to check what the Paragon community had to say about, and basically we can summarize what actual Paragon players say about what caused the downfall:

    *New card system being confusing
*Only switching to one map for the rest of it's "life"
*Mechanics being completelly different as they were originally (or as they call it, legacy)
    *EPIC NOT INTERACTING WITH COMMUNITY

so, why bring Paragon into Hyper Universe discussion?
Well, first, it just plain died (they closed servers, they say there is no turning back), second and it's basically the flag Hegoken carries: THEY WERENT LISTENING TO THE COMMUNITY....

Now what you said about "iif the changes ain't well received there's always the option to revert them and/or improve them." it's completelly on point, some devs out there have actually messed up and then say "Ok, sorry, we screwed up, here is the original patch / the patch to solve all problems", nowoadays any good developer (if not just ANY developer) has to use version control (like git, but i bet devs have their versions somewhere private) otherwise when they completely screw up and make the game unplayable, full of bugs or even delete important files, theyll take literally months to go back by going on file storage, refurbishing code, stuff like that, so it shouldn't be a big deal to "go back" since we assume (at least as developer myself) they DO use version control.

Other thing i wanted to comment on your post, when you said "It'd also be nice if the devs (or someone who is connected with the team in some way) would talk to the community." i've asked for that twice (or thrice, i forgot already) and not even community managers showed up to say "hey here we are working on stuff" or "we are listening", it's sad because now that makes us 2 players who ask for the same thing: having producers, community managers approach the community annd say what's going on, actively taking feedback, stuff like that (obviously considering what cannot go out of their walls)).

It's funny because everyday i check up steamcharts to see how it's doing, maybe i would feel like playing again (AND NOT TOUCHING THE STUPID CAPTAIN AMERICA WANNA-BE ...) but i see active players are going down and down, don't think there would be much point on playing this... anyways idk why i still care about this game, i do love the concept, the ORIGINAL art style, it's just that the game management is so poor it's basically non-existent

I have 450 hours logged into this game. I really love it and it pains me to see what is happening with it. I won't quote te same complaints that have been posted in this topic, but another thing that is happening now and that its making playing this game a frustrating experience.

There are some very experienced and skilled players that play this game as a party, most times the matches end with a score of 25-0, 29-2, etc. Please don't get me wrong, I consider myself a decent player (gold in ranked) and I know how to take a lose, I like to learn from them, but the problem is that when the base of players it is this small you end playing with the same party again and again, it happened to me 4 games in a row. I even waited 10 minutes to let them start a game and be paired against anyone else, but no, the base is so small that when I found a match it was against them, again. Not having much fun with the game that day.

I personally believe that is has less to do with boobs and skin showing as opposed to the idea that a company believes they can dictate what the players want to expose themselves to.
It's a matter of choice, and a matter of the company listening to the fans. Not a simple matter of T&A.

A lot of people keep saying it's not a big deal, but clearly it must be if a company feels they need to spend time and resources in changing it. If it wasn't the game would have left it as is and the fans would have nothing to complain about.

People don't like censorship, be it censoring gore or sex. They want the raw unaltered version of things. When your mom covered your eyes during a horror movie and tells you don't look it kills the thrill that a horror movie is intended to provide. I suppose it feels a lot like that for people about Hyper Universe.

Either way, it has already happened, the trickle effect has already occurred. Now we simply wait and watch what happens.

Laws, rules, culture etc. are diferent in each country. So the content have to be according to those and the specific consumer, so products, services games etc adapt. Players these days complaining about a company cuz they dont give them a choice to watch boobs, and feel oppressed for it. is something that not even in my deepest retarded non logical dreams could have imagine lol.

Responsible moms don't let their kids watch horror movies that are usually rated not for children. Cuz you know those rules are there to protect children.
Censorship is there to Take care of children and consumers. So idk why anyone would be mad with a company that is being responsible with children and content in internet.

    The advantages of censorship...
    Protect children.

    Disadvantages of Censorship...
Players cant choose to watch boobs or more skin. And they might feel oppressed, cuz you know that's an inhuman thing to do.

    I stay with Censorship.

This may be true but that's where they have different launch clients for those regions. There are many things Blizzard did that made them able to reach many countries and cultures. I can say that Nexon may or may not be as big as blizzard but this is an option. The issue was that they launched it with those models if they really wanted censorship they should have never launched with them.

To be honest I am a parent if I did not like a game I would not let me kid play it not write a letter saying that the game they made has my son walking around with a chub and if my daughter feels that it is right to dress the way she sees people on games or on tv then I failed as a parent.

I think its a little unfair that allot of the "anti-censorship" people seem to disregard the things they (Nexon) did listen to. The last patch notes are a nice example of this too.

Yes, i also did not like the art-changes, think it had a sizeable negative impact and think they shouldn't have done it, but it is not the only cause why this game has a hard time to retain a player base.

    Issues i have seen mentioned:
    - The lack of big marketing pushes
    - It being a niche sidescroller MOBA
    - It being another MOBA (look at all the closed/failed MOBA titles in 2017-2018)
    - People simply not liking the way this game works (heavy CC locking comps, certain Hypers being unbalanced, (keyboard) controls are awkward, escaping is 'easy' if the other team does not have enough cc to hold you in one place etc..)
    - Server lag
    - The game simply not starting, crashing mid-way, server errors etc...
    - "Stacking"/ teaming up in regulars as a 3 or 4 man team and then stomping a random group

    ...

I am really only going to comment on one thing you said in your post stating look at how many MOBAs have failed since 2017-2018.. I only want to say this cause I prolly have been a part of those communities when they failed. It was almost always due to the Devs. Not the playerbase or even the fucked up game play. Let's take Paragon since that has been brought up many times in this forum. Paragon was three different games depending on when you played it. All things done by the devs and many of them the community did not want. Like this community that community stuck with it till the end. Fortnight killed paragon it got so big and made them so much money they kill paragon yet another dev choice/publisher choice. Now tencent is going to be launching it in China.

Dota and Lol went through the same but there devs listen and most of that was during the start up i mean Dota was a mod to start out with. Comparing a 2D sidescroller to a traditional moba is wrong.

Nexon just need to get there head out of ass and so does Cwavesoft cause Nexon is just the publisher Cwave is the dev.
